Green Scythe Fair ‘GSF25’ Sun 8 June 2025 (Second Sunday in June) 11.00 am – 11.00 pm.
Incorporating the 19th West Country Scythe Festival .Thorney Lakes, Somerset TA10 0DW. The premier scything event in the UK. Scythe championship, scythe and haymaking events, crafts, stalls, music, speakers, kids area, local food and drink. Advance ticket sales only. For more information go to http://www.greenfair.org.uk
Fête de la faux et des outils conviviaux 2025 Sat 5 and Sun 6 July 2025
Bannalec, Finistère, Bretagne, France. There'll be workshops on Saturday, a celebration in the evening, and some competitions (mostly team mowing), demonstration, market and talks on Sunday. We will have a special focus on small scale grain crops. Enquiries: Julie Rubiella julierubiella@gmail.com
Northern Scythe Festival 2025 Sat 12 and Sun 13 July 2025 (Note this is a week later than last year)

The Bell Sykes Meadows are some of the last unimproved flower-rich grasslands in this part of Lancashire. They are a dream to cut with the scythe and there is plenty of grass to go round!The event features practise sessions and team mowing on Saturday and finishes with the Northern Scythe Championships on Sunday. Basic camping available Friday to Sunday night at £10 per person per night. Book with Jim McVittie (jim@mcvittie.me.uk). Large marquee for communal bring and share meals each day.
Cambridge Scythe Festival Sunday 20 July 2025
Wandlebury Country Park, CB22 3AE Wandlebury Country Park is on the Gog Magog Hills, just south of Cambridge. Hosted by kind permission of Cambridge Past Present and Future. Day visitors should park in the pay and display car park and follow the signs to the scything field. Anyone who is travelling a distance to the event should contact Jim McVittie (jim@mcvittie.me.uk) as there is no camping on site. There will also be a scything course on the Saturday. Community mow - Meadow scything event (bring your own scythe) Llawryglyn, 22 July 2025 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
Come along to a community event to scythe a beautiful meadow in mid-Wales. Lunch provided. Previous experience of scything required. Please bring your own kit. This is a free event however you must book your place - please email hand.powered@yahoo.com
