Tool maintenance and sharpening

One of the keys to the effective use of hand tools is keeping them sharp and well maintained. We are happy to help sharpen blades and recondition hand tools that are in need of a new lease of life.

This includes;

• Scythe blades: I can restore both European and Traditional British blades

- Blade Peening/ grinding:£25.00 per blade

- Peening workshop: £95.00 per person

• Double handed cross cut saws: £50-£80 (depending on condition of saw, please contact for details)
• Axes: £22.00 per head
• billhooks £17.00 per tool
• knives etc. £10.00 per tool
• spades and other garden tools £8.00 per item

Tool maintenance day with tuition: £180 per day (1-2 people), £95 per day per person (3-4 people)

Discounts available for multiple day bookings and for charities and conservation bodies. See Events page for course dates or book a date with us that is convenient to you

We provide all the equipment and if discussed prior to the course, scythes and scythe equipment will be available for purchase at the end of the course.

Mileage will be charged at 50p per mile.
